报告摘要:Observability lies at the heart of control theory. Different formulations of observability inequalities not only capture a variety of control-theoretic phenomena but also carry distinct mathematical significance. In the context of evolutionary partial differential equations (PDEs), understanding the geometric properties of observable sets or regions is essential for establishing observability inequalities. Despite its importance, this topic remains far from fully understood. In this talk, we begin by presenting several distinct types of observability inequalities within the abstract framework of evolution equations and discuss their connections to control problems. We then introduce the notions of observable sets and regions for evolutionary PDEs, and provide an overview of existing results and main techniques concerning their geometric properties. The talk concludes with a discussion of several open problems related to the geometry of observable (including weakly observable) sets and regions.
报告人简介:汪更生,天津大学教授,国际知名的数学控制论专家。他长期从事分布参数控制系统理论的研究,在时间最优控制、能观性与能稳性等方面取得了系统性、国际领先的研究成果。目前担任控制论领域知名期刊《SICON》、《COCV》和《MCRF》的编委。他是2026年国际数学家大会(ICM)45分钟特邀报告人。
