On the morning of October 18th, our college successfully hosted the 2025 Xiangjiang Forum's School of Mathematics and Statistics sub-forum. Qiu Fei, Deputy Director of the University's Talent Office, Hu Yuxi, Secretary of the College Party Committee, Liu Yuanyuan, Vice Dean (in charge of work), Yang Xuebin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Pan Kejia, Vice Dean, and Wu Lian attended the forum. Members of the College's Professorial Committee, department heads, faculty party branch secretaries, student representatives, and 14 young scholars from renowned universities and research institutions at home and abroad participated in the forum. The meeting was chaired by Liu Yuanyuan.

Hu Yuxi systematically introduced the college's important measures and development plans for talent development. He pointed out that the college has built a distinctive disciplinary system encompassing basic mathematics, applied mathematics, computational mathematics, operations research and cybernetics, and statistics, and possesses provincial and ministerial-level research platforms such as the Hunan Provincial Research Center for Basic Disciplines of Analytical Mathematics. Currently, the college is at a critical stage in its construction of first-class disciplines and urgently needs a group of outstanding young talents with international vision and innovative capabilities. He emphasized that the college will strengthen its talent development efforts in three aspects: First, it will create a high-quality development platform, continuously optimize the talent recruitment mechanism, provide precise matching and efficient services, offer competitive salaries and research funding, equip the college with professional mentor teams, and support applications for various talent programs. Second, it will innovate its working mechanisms, explore a long-term talent evaluation system, grant young talents greater academic autonomy and decision-making power over technical routes, and provide full support in areas such as team building, graduate student recruitment, and fund utilization. Third, it will improve service guarantees, implement various welfare policies, and provide "one-stop" attentive services in areas such as housing, children's education, and spousal employment to solve practical difficulties to the greatest extent possible.
Qiu Fei systematically introduced the university's job positions, application conditions, and support policies for talent recruitment, focusing on the job requirements, salaries, research funding guarantees, and supporting services for various talent positions. Through detailed policy interpretation, he provided clear guidance for the young scholars attending the meeting to fully understand the pathways to joining Central South University and accurately grasp the university's policy orientation and implementation details for talent work.
During the academic exchange session, 14 young scholars from home and abroad delivered academic reports on cutting-edge fields of mathematics and statistics, presenting their latest research findings. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on related academic issues.
It is understood that the college will use this forum as an opportunity to establish a regular contact mechanism, further expand talent recruitment channels, improve the talent service and support system, actively promote follow-up work on talent introduction, and strive to build a high-level talent team, providing solid talent support for the university's "Double First-Class" initiative and the college's high-quality development.
