1.报告题目:Diophantine approximation, continued fractions and Hausdorff dimension

报告摘要:Continued fraction expansion is a vital tool in studying the problems in Diophantine approximation. We will first talk about the relationship between Diophantine approximation and continued fraction expansion; then we relate the three fundamental theories in metric Diophantine approximation (Dirichlet’s theorem, Khintchine’s theorem and Jarnik’s theorem) to the questions in continued fractions. These enable us to improve the classic results by using continued fractions.

报告人简介:王保伟,华中科技大学教授,国家优秀青年基金获得者,入选教育部新世纪优秀人才支持计划。研究方向是分形几何和度量丢番图逼近,主要工作集中在利用实数的连分数表示研究度量丢番图逼近中的维数问题以及动力系统中关于轨道分布的丢番图逼近问题。

2.报告题目: Stabilization and Controllability of transmission coupled wave/Euler-Bernoulli equations on Riemannian manifolds

报告摘要:Transmission systems appear in many practical control systems such as chemical reactions coupling, structural-acoustic systems and many other interactive physical processes. This talk is concerned with the stabilization and controllability of transmission system of coupling wave equations with Euler-Bernoulli equations on Riemannian manifolds. More precisely, we consider the case where we only introduce the control on the exterior boundary. That means there is no control on the interface of the transmission problem. We prove that the system is exactly controllable and the energy decays uniformly under some geometric assumptions on the interface. We found that such kind of geometric assumption can not be removed.

报告人简历: 张志飞,华中科技大学数学与统计学院,教授。2008年获得中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院博士学位,随后于武汉大学从事博士后研究。主要研究方向偏微分方程的控制理论及反问题等。

3.报告题目:The recurrence set arising in$\alpha$-L\"uroth transformation

报告摘要:Let the partition$\alpha$ of unit is expansive of exponent with$\theta\geq 0$ and eventually decreasing,$t_n$ be a nondecreasing sequence of nature numbers. For$x_0\in[0,1]$ which has infinite$\alpha$-L\"uroth expansion, the recurrence set of$\alpha$-L\"uroth transformation$L_{\alpha}$ is defined as$$F(x_0)=\{x\in [0,1]:L_{\alpha}^{n}(x)\in A(l_1,l_2,\cdots,l_{t_n})(x_0), i. \ o. \ n\},$$where$A(l_1,l_2,\cdots,l_{t_n})(x_0)$ denotes the$n-$th cylinder of$x_0$ in$\alpha$-L\"uroth expansion. In this paper, we obtained the Hausdorff dimension of$F(x_0)$.

个人简历沈陆明,博士,教授,从事分形几何及其应用研究。湖南农业大学理学院工作,主持参与与各级科研课题10多项,主要参与国家自然科学基金2项(2、4),主持湖南省自然科学基金1项。在JMMA、中国科学等杂志SCI16篇。

4. 报告题目:Low-dimensional approximations of nonlinear stochastic partial differential equations

报告摘要:Making accurate predictions about the behaviors of complex system described by partial differential equations (PDEs) with incomplete or unreliable data is an important goal of the computational science involving uncertainty quantification, where a significant challenge is to develop and establish an efficient numerical approach to overcome the high computing requirement and provide accurate solutions of the associated stochastic PDEs. Over past decades, reduced-order models (ROM) have been found to be increasingly used for reducing the computational cost in the areas such as flow control and optimization. In this lecture, we will present a stochastic ROM method that combines the advantages of proper orthogonal decomposition and centroidal Voronoi tessellations. The application of ROM in flow control problem is also presented.

报告人简介:Professor Ju Ming finished his Ph.D in 2009, then worked as a postdoc fellow at Florida State University. In 2012, he received the prestigious Outstanding Young Fellow award(青年千人)in China. From 2013-2017, he worked as an assistant professor at Beijing Computational Science Research Center (CSRC), and then he transferred to Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) as a professor. His research interests focus on uncertainty quantification, optimization, stochastic partial differential equations, etc.

5. 报告题目:Time-varying multiplicative perturbations of well-posed linear systems

报告摘要:We study a time-varying well-posed system resulting from multiplicative perturbation of the generator of a time-invariant well-posed system. The associated generator family has the form $AP(t)$, where $P(t)$ is a bounded operator on the state space and $P(\cdot)$ is strongly continuous. We show that the resulting time-varying system is well-posed and we investigate its properties. We are motivated by the physical system involving electromagnetic field around a moving object governed by Maxwell's equations.

报告人简历:陈建华,男,1979年10月生,湖南桃源人,湖南科技大学数学与计算科学学院副教授。2001年7月本科毕业于青岛海洋大学经济管理学院,2004年7月硕士毕业于南京理工大学应用数学系,2010年6月博士毕业于中国科技大学基础数学系,2011.3-2012.4在以色列特拉维夫大学电气工程学院博士后。目前的研究兴趣为算子半群、无限维线性系统的数学控制理论、时变线性系统的稳定性、具有物理工程背景的偏微分方程(如:换热器方程、Maxwell方程)、同步逆变器、虚拟无穷电容。

6.报告题目:Optimal Actuator Location of Null Controllable Heat Equation

报告摘要:In this talk, we shall discuss a kind of optimal actuator location in PDEs. Optimal actuator location is produced from engineering, industry and applied mathematics. We first introduce shape optimization of PDEs, and then introduce the null controllability of heat equation, finally, we consider the optimal actuator location problem of null controllable heat equation. We obtained the existence of the optimal actuator location and characterized the shape of optimal actuator location. There are some open problems will be given in the end of this talk.
